Christian Education
At Gordon Head United Church,
we believe that Christian Education for all ages is important.
The
Sunday School meets during our time of
worship. The children arrive with their parents at 10:00 and sit with
them. The first part of the service has lots of activity, geared to
children. About fifteen minutes into the service, the children are
invited to the front of the church where they are told a story.
Following this, Sunday School teachers take
them to their classes. Currently, there are three classes, up to grade
2, grades 3-5 and grades 6 and older.
Twice a
year, the children of the Sunday school lead us in worship. The
Christmas Pageant is a favourite of many in the congregation. In June,
the children assist in a service marking their attendance at Sunday
School. A lunch is provided by the
congregation for the children and their families on these and other
occasions.
For
adults, there is a weekly bible study group, meeting Wednesdays at 10:00
am. New members are always welcome to this group. There are also
special short term series held on Wednesday evenings. Please see the
